The singular screenwriter Charlie Kaufman penned this meta-fiction exploration of the inside of his own mind. Nicolas Cage plays a double role as the neurotic Kaufman and his fun-loving twin brother as the writer tries and fails to adapt 'The Orchid Thief' by Susan Orlean for the screen. Equal parts hilarious and insightful, this movie-about-movies is a high watermark for Kaufman. Also starring Meryl Streep and Chris Cooper. Rated R.
