Anatomy of a Murder

One of the best courtroom dramas ever. Jimmy Stewart is a small-town Michigan lawyer who defends a soldier charged with murdering a man who allegedly raped his wife. But the truth is murky in this noirish drama that has a powerful immediacy. With a beautiful score by Duke Ellington (who also has a cameo) and with great supporting performances from Ben Gazzara, George C. Scott, and Lee Remick.
