Released six months after Vertigo, Kim Novak and Jimmy Stewart re-team for this witchy romantic comedy. Novak plays a modern-day witch living in Greenwich Village who enchants her neighbor – played by Stewart – with a love spell due to her disdain for his fiance. However, Novak finds herself falling for Stewart, which poses a problem – she will lose her powers if she falls in love. Filmed in Technicolor, BELL, BOOK AND CANDLE oozes late '50s beatnik chic.
