Yorgos Lanthimos directs this dark thriller about two conspiracy theorists who kidnap a high-powered CEO – played by Lanthimos regular Emma Stone – believing she’s an alien sent to destroy the Earth. Jesse Plemons and Stone give powerful performances in a film that unlike Poor Things is equal parts uncomfortable and tragic, with a much more visceral style of Lanthimos’ work on display.
