Fjord

Winner of the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, FJORD stands among the year’s most acclaimed cinematic achievements. When a devout Romanian couple, played by Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve, settle with their five children in a remote Norwegian village, allegations of abuse set off a fierce clash between religious conviction and the authority of the state. Set against a breathtaking yet unforgiving landscape, director Cristian Mungiu crafts a quietly devastating family drama that probes the complexities of parental love and the fragile boundary between protection and persecution. In both English and Romanian, Norwegian, and Swedish w/ subtitles.
