Nicolas Cage plays Benjamin Franklin Gates, an historian and treasure hunter who sets out to find a cache of gold hidden away by the founding fathers of the United States. With clues hidden in the original drafts of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, Gates races to claim the fortune before a group of mercenaries do. Filmed in and around Philadelphia at such notable landmarks as Independence Hall, the Franklin Institute, and Reading Terminal Market, NATIONAL TREASURE is a fun caper with plenty of twists and turns.
