Esteemed live accompanist Brett Miller will join us in theater for Silent Movie Day to provide a live original score to Buster Keaton’s silent classic THE NAVIGATOR.

Buster Keaton stars in this landmark silent comedy that follows a wealthy, directionless man who finds himself stranded aboard an empty ocean liner. When the ship drifts out to sea with only him and an equally unprepared young woman on board, the pair must improvise to survive. Keaton delivers his signature blend of physical comedy and ingenious stunt work as the couple bumbles through increasingly elaborate maritime mishaps. A highlight of silent-era filmmaking, the film showcases Keaton’s mastery of visual storytelling and precision comedy. Silent w/ live accompaniment.

Brett Miller is an organist, pianist, orchestrator, and conductor specializing in silent film accompaniment. His most recent appointment is as Music Director of the Empire Film and Media Ensemble, a nonprofit based in Rochester, NY that advocates for the education, performance, and production of film music.
